The Institute for Nonprofit Management offers access to both professional certificates and degree programs through the Department of Public Administration. Our goal is to build the nonprofit sector by offering practical skills and lifelong learning to nonprofit professionals and volunteers.
Involved in the Community
INPM serves as a regional resource center for nonprofit education, research, job information, and community service. We provide a forum for the exchange of ideas about vital issues affecting the nonprofit sector and the practitioner community. Our faculty includes experienced professional practitioners from the nonprofit community. Classroom work, agency visits, internships, mentor relationships, real-world case studies and filed projects provide students with firsthand experience in the opportunities and challenges of today's nonprofit world. Our philosophy of practical, experiential education extends throughout the academic offerings of the Institute. We have a strong commitment to placing our students in challenging, appropriate internships.Accessible and Affordable
The Institute for Nonprofit Management operates through the Department of Public Administration within the PSU College of Urban and Public Affairs. The Institute for Nonprofit Management provides affordable, practical education to the nonprofit community. Classes meet on evenings and weekends at the Portland State University campus in the heart of downtown Portland.PSU's reasonable tuition rates and financial assistance keep the INPM affordable. We are committed to developing a pool of scholarship money for students who are not able to attend the Institute without assistance. Earmarked scholarships promote the participation of people of color; people with disabilities, and students from small and rural nonprofit organizations. You can apply for admission and enroll in graduate or certificate classes in any quarter. Enrollment is not contingent upon admission. Certificate classes are open to all who wish to enroll.
